Welcome to the Evansville Community School District!
July 1st was my first day on the job, and I am very excited to begin working with our students, parents, and the Evansville community! It feels like a long time since the school board hired me as the next District Administrator back in late January. Since then, I have tried to get to know the school district and community by attending board meetings, informational referendum meetings, the school board candidate forum, “Shrek: The Musical,” the Green Team’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for its solar project, the high school graduation ceremony, and the Strawberry Festival. I am now pouring all my efforts into the 2024-25 school year and beyond.
I grew up in Janesville and attended UW-Madison to become a History teacher. My first job was teaching Social Studies at Grand Haven Area High School in Michigan. While teaching in Grand Haven, I earned my master’s degree in K-12 Educational Leadership from Michigan State University. After five years in Michigan, my wife and I moved back to Wisconsin. I taught and coached at my alma mater, Janesville Craig High School, for another eight years. At that point, I was hired as an Assistant Principal at DeForest Area High School. While working in DeForest for five years, I earned my superintendent’s license through Edgewood College. At Edgewood, I completed all of my doctoral coursework but have yet to complete my dissertation. That is still a goal of mine! For the last ten years, I have worked for the School District of Belleville- the first six years as the principal of the middle and high schools and the last four as the District Administrator.
In August, I will celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary with my wife, Sarah. She has worked as an elementary school teacher for that same amount of time- 25 years. We have four daughters together. Emma will be a senior at UW-Madison. Isabel will be a freshman at the University of Minnesota. Olivia will be entering high school, and our youngest, Nora, will only be in 4th grade. We still travel as a family every summer and enjoy playing cards or board games and watching movies. I am a big Wisconsin sports fan…Go Badgers, Brewers, Bucks, and the Pack! I also like reading and spending time outdoors.
I have three goals for myself as I begin my work in Evansville. First, I intend to bring stability to the district, including financial stability. Change is hard, and Evansville has endured a lot of it lately. Second, I want the Evansville Community School District to be one that students, parents, and staff are proud of. Specifically, Evansville should consistently be an “exceeds expectations” school district with academic growth and high achievement. Finally, I pledge to be visible and accessible within the district and out in the community. To that end, I invite you to reach out to me if you would like to talk or meet. Just contact me by email (perryn@evansville.k12.wi.us) or phone (608-882-3386). I promise a quick reply.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your District Administrator! I am grateful for that faith that has already been shown in me. I will work tirelessly to make the Evansville Community School District one that you are proud to call your own! If you are interested in seeing what I am up to, feel free to follow me on Instagram and Twitter.
Have a Blue Devil of a day!
Mr. Nate Perry
ECSD District Administrator
